CHARACTER INFO

Character: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Canon: Trigun Stampede. Episode 10: Humanity. This is right after he parts ways with Vash.
Age: His age is never actually stated, but around early 30's works for me. He's a bit older physically than he is mentally, but still considered an adult all around (probably early 20's mentally.)

Background Information: Nicholas D. Wolfwood Wiki.

Personality:

Nicholas D. Wolfwood, aka The Punisher, is a supporting character in the Trigun series. He is written from the Trigun Stampede rendition with some tidbits from the manga/older series mixed in. To sum Wolfwood up in a bullet format, he's pessimistic, stubborn, relentless, confident, ambitious, cynical, unforgiving, grouchy, and cold. Wolfwood also has a soft heart underneath a hard exterior. He is an orphan who was adopted by a cult, experimented on and is currently an assassin under Knives Millions. He was created to be a killer with enhanced abilities to serve the Eye of Michael's instructed purpose.

Upon first meeting Wolfwood, he appears to be a standoffish and grouchy character who doesn't care for other people, and it's possible he's build up an exterior that is tough to crack over the lonely years of losing friends. It's stated that he has "killed all of his friends." Perhaps, then, he tries not to get close to others to protect himself, but just the right people can worm their way into his life and make him care about them-- very much so. Wolfwood is loyal to those people that he does care about, and although he would risk his life to protect them, he isn't against standing up for himself even if it means killing them.. he also isn't against killing them if it means doing the right thing either.

Deep down, Wolfwood has a dislike for dying, so a motivation and driving for him is simply to survive in a wasteland that is hard to live in. His solution is to kill, most of the time, and has killed others to survive where as Vash showed the same people mercy and sympathy. It might be something of cowardice on his end, despite being brave in the mortal realm, because even if he kills a lot, Wolfwood carries the guilt of blood on his hands. Ultimately, he doesn't like it. The things that he does that may be considered "mean" is what he believes is the only way he can help others. This is also a flaw on his end; the simple reasoning that makes things less complicated is to survive and kill others that get in the way of that or get in the way of him protecting those he wants to keep safe. Wolfwood has a soft spot especially for children, not wanting them to endure the same fate as him. He wants them to live a beautiful life, free of guilt and murder, unlike his. From an orphanage himself, he feels a duty to protect children.

Another one of his flaws is he prefers to act without thinking and/or consideration of how the consequences might affect him and others. For example, he sees his childhood friend, Livio, as a brainwashed assassin instead of a friend, and he almost puts him out of his misery by trying to kill him, convinced there's nothing he can do. Vash reasons with Wolfwood, though, and he tries to break Livio out of his mind controlled state. This shows that Wolfwood can be so rash, he can kill a friend of his if he means its for the greater good and an all around easier conclusion to a problem. It took someone else's voice of reason to give Livio another chance. He's a pessimist without someone else there to help him see otherwise.

In all of these serious aspects of his character, Wolfwood does take moments to tease others when he sees fit to. He does have a sense of humor; dry and sarcastic. The people he enjoys the most are the ones that can put up with his relentless teasing. It could be because he has such a bleak outlook on his life that he has the humor himself now and then, and harassing others just comes with it. Even if he's a killer, it doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy people for who they are and what they do.

In conclusion, Wolfwood is a good doer but in a bit of a skewed sense with questionable morals. He's a foil of Vash, who tries to do good by being a pacifist; Wolfwood does good which comes with a sacrifice. He believes that not everyone can live, but sometimes, somebody has to die so someone else can live. Even if deep down he doesn't like getting his hands dirty, he will do it if he believes it is the right path to take.

Abilities & Inventory:

Enhanced Healing: With the help of serum produced by the same doctor that created his abilities, Wolfwood can guzzle one of these down and instantly heal any injuries he has acquired. They will be in his inventory with a max amount of 6.

Enhanced Speed / Reflexes: Wolfwood can run faster than the average human, but he isn't an unholy amount of fast.

Enhanced Strength: Same thing with his strength; he is stronger than he appears, but not anything overpowered.

Using Weapons: Wolfwood typically uses a giant gun called the Punisher, but he is well-versed in many other weapons, specifically guns.

The Punisher: A very, very big gun (over six feet) with the ability to rapid fire and also shoot lasers. It can slice and split living organisms into pieces, but otherwise, it is just a rapid fire weapon. If the Punisher needs to be nerfed in any way, let me know. We can nix it down to cutting organisms with the laser instead of slicing directly through them if it is an issue.

For his inventory, Wolfwood will be able to find all the clothes on his belonging, 6 healing vials and the Punisher itself with loaded ammo. The Punisher also carries smaller guns within it (4 pistols). The Punisher can have these extra guns or not, just let me know.

ARMADA SELECTION

For Wolfwood, I am choosing Corsair for him. Nicholas makes a bunch of rash decisions without really thinking things through, and even if he uses parts of his life to protect other people, it is essentially for a selfish reason: fear. He's a murderer even if it was for the greater good, and isn't the type of person to be held down by a voice of reason or any sort of law. He tends to break rules and laws if nothing else. Wolfwood has a sense of adventure, considering Noman's Land is a barren planet, and since he's been nothing but bound by a cult for his whole life, being given a sense of freedom is something he has ever wanted. He's tired of being controlled for someone else's gain and wants to live his own life, his own way, and sometimes that might include betraying people you care about.

On top of all of this, he literally tries to scam Vash and his crew when they first meet him by performing a pitiful eulogy and then handing Vash and Meryl an invoice. Sometimes, he is just out here for monetary gain.
